The music scene at Rutgers has always been alive and active due to its many musicians. On almost any weekend night, and even weekday, you can find a show in a friend’s basement and see a few bands perform. There are the occasional concerts worth going to at nearby venues like The State Theater or even those held by a Rutgers organization. The talented Mason Gross music students are always performing and even non-music majors can be found practicing with their bands or just as a hobby around campus. New Brunswick contains New Jersey’s largest population of college students, and several of them are musicians who love to share their music, creating a diverse and exciting city for students to encompass.

Emery

You can find Emery around the center of Voorhees Mall during the weekdays if you are lucky. He has been playing the guitar on and off for the past 20 years and he loves meeting students!

Alex Goldstein
Alex Goldstein is the singer and guitarist for his band, Harpoon Forever, who frequently performs in New Brunswick basements as well as venues in NYC. He is currently a senior at Rutgers and has been playing music for the past five years.
