Some days a song tries to trickle into my memory and pushes hard to be known. Once this song is there euphoria and happiness. When I was about 5 years old NSYNC came out with one of their best hits “Bye, Bye, Bye.” The song is full of male harmonies and the early 2000 funk that has been lost over the past years. This song was released a year after my youngest brother was born. At that time he had some blubbering and he would sing the song as though he was inquiring whether the baby was going away. He would waddle around the house and repeat the song until we were able to record it. So now whenever we reminisce we always bring it out until he is hiding his face in embarrassment. This song brings back so many memories and reminds me of a phase in life where things were carefree. Now I will have flashes of wanting to hear this song, wanting to sing it at the top of my lungs. If I get lucky enough, it will be stuck in my head and I’ll have enough time to put it on repeat for a little while and jam my heart out until I am content.
