For several weeks now, rumors have been swirling around that the President of the United States, Barack Obama was going to speak at this year’s 250th Anniversary University Commencement. Rutgers President Robert Barchi wrote to POTUS asking him to speak to the graduating class and now two years later he is saying YES.
If you were like me, I was completely in disbelief. Like why would THE BARACK OBAMA want to come to bumblefuck New Brunswick?! Could it be because we have bomb ass tacos and our school spirit kicks ass? But as of 11:25 AM every student and faculty member received an email that made us to happy to be a Scarlet Knight! THE CONSPIRACY THEORY IS TRUE. POTUS IS SPEAKING AT THIS YEARS COMMENCEMENT TO CELEBRATE 250 YEARS!!! LIKE FUCK YOU PENN STATE WE GOT OBAMA TO SPEAK OUR SCHOOL! WHO ARE YOU GONNA GET TED CRUZ????
The class of 2016 is so lucky! Can you imagine getting your diploma handed to you by Obama?!!? Like NBD, CO2016 your friends are going to have major FOMO. As a Scarlet Knight I am so excited to be able to witness Obama speak and give encouragement to the graduating class. I don’t know about you, but if I was graduating this year and heard Obama’s inspirational speech I would be hella motivated to some amazing ish. So congrats to Rutgers on landing this historical event! Maybe we can get him to do the Rutgers chant??
