Hi, I’m Diya! I’m the writer of “Diya’s Reading Nook” and my column focuses on analyzing different pieces of literature and the act of reading through a sociological lens. I want to explore how reading can be a cultural act and how literature speaks a larger volume about our society, but moreover what exactly that means in the twenty-first century. I joined the Rutgers Review as a columnist to have a creative space to flesh out my ideas and improve my writing skills. I love writing for fun and I can’t wait to share my thoughts with you all! In my free time I love to read, dance, draw and watch movies and TV. Besides that I also enjoy traveling to new places and listening to music. Some random things I love are my headphones, blue eyeliner, Pinterest, reddish lipstick, and fruit.
